Congratulations to Shreyaa Krishna, Natalie Hsiao, Dorthy Sailor, and Emily Myers! Our always positive Boys Coordinator Coach Ramos was awarded the Citizenship award for April by the PTO for his great work with students and our community. Happy weekend Willow Springs!

Willow Springs students & staff have all earned a well-deserved spring break. Our orchestra students scored BIG at UIL! This is the first time Willow Springs has taken FOUR orchestras to the UIL Contest, and we are SO proud to report that ALL FOUR orchestras received SUPERIOR ratings from all SIX judges winning them each a SWEEPSTAKES AWARD!
WSMS Choir received SWEEPSTAKES AWARD at their UIL Concert and Sight-Reading! They were awarded a SUPERIOR rating by all SIX judges.
7th grade Texas History students learned about the Great Depression through a hands-on learning experience in class, navigating a budget as if they were living in the 1930's.
Is your student looking for a creative project over the break? Our wonderful Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Cermak, has a bookmark contest going on until April 7th! Wishing all students and families a very safe and happy Spring Break.

We are grateful for some of our amazing WSMS educators like Ms. Campbell, Ms. Rogers, Ms. Smith, and Ms. Perez. Each of these educators partnered with Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas to participate in the 2024 Summer iWork Externship program. They gained valuable information on current workplace practices, tools, software, current trends, in-demand skills, and more! This experience enhances their practices to better prepare students for the future!

Leopard Reminder: No school Friday, February 14 & Monday, February 17 for Teacher Planning Day & Presidents' Day! Enjoy the long weekend! #OneHeartOneLovejoy #NoSchool

Today was Bump Up Day at WSMS and excitement ran high as we welcomed the 6th graders from Sloan Creek to experience the greatness of middle school! We had a pep rally where the LHS A Capella blew us all away with their performance; the 7th grader cheerleaders led us in a spirit yell; Mr. Lewis & Coach Ramos spoke about the ROAR (respect, ownership, attitude, and resilience) culture here at WSMS and then led a FUN teachers against students "seated" basketball game! We ended with a stunning performance from the WSMS dance team and a greeting by our leader, Mrs. Eldredge! Students then toured the building and enjoyed lunch in the cafeteria before listening to our student panel and heading back to SCIS. The 6th graders were so respectful and attentive. WSMS was impressed! We can't wait to have them on campus in August!

The first week of February began with the WSMS Garden Club cleanup day. Students and families pulled weeds and cut back the dead winter growth in the pollinator beds. 7th grade science students analyzed how pollution can affect the groundwater in a watershed with this engaging lab experiment.
We ended the week by honoring our indispensable WSMS counselors with lunch and a personal song sung by our PALS students! We appreciate all you do for students and staff! ❤️

WSMS has been super busy bringing in this new year! We spent January honoring our incredible LISD Trustee, Julie McLaughlin! Our PALS students enjoyed treating her to donuts and some treats from our campus. She was then kind enough to sit with us and answer questions from students. We thoroughly enjoyed her insight as she shared her experiences and excitement for serving our Lovejoy community. Thank you, Mrs. McLaughlin!

We would like to personally invite you to see RODGER AND HAMMERSTEIN'S "CINDERELLA" this Thursday, Friday or Saturday at 7:00 pm or Saturday at 1:00 pm. Students get discounted tickets! The theatre, choir, orchestra and band have all been working very hard on this show for the last three months, and it is going to be amazing- do not miss out! Follow the QR code to hometown gate for tickets. We hope to see you there!

The Lovejoy Reads: Sora Challenge has ended, and it's time to announce the winning campus! Over the 67-day challenge, Willow readers logged 1116 hours on Sora, taking 1st place in the contest! This is incredible, and we are #LovejoyProud of our students' love for reading and learning. The top 20 readers at each campus will receive a 3D-printed axolotl keychain designed by our Lovejoy Librarians. In addition, the top 10 readers at Willow Springs will also receive a special prize for their amazing accomplishment. Thank you for participating, and remember that Sora is available 24/7 for your next great read!

Well.....That's a wrap for semester 1 at WSMS!! Exams are all finished, and students & staff are all ready to enjoy the holidays with family and friends! We wish every one of our Lovejoy families a safe and restful break! See you next year!!! #2025bestisyet2come

Break? What break? Students at WSMS are still rolling along!! Last week was busy with performances & learning. Choir, band, & orchestra all sang and played us into the holiday season. 🎶8th grade science was classifying stars for an ADI learning experience. Art students used candy to create cool still life pictures. TX History students expressed their Texas know-how in the form of ugly Christmas sweaters! 🤓 And WSMS teachers began planning for next semester! But, the piece de resistance was Friday’s face pie of Mr. Lewis to celebrate 7th grade’s win for the least amount of absences challenge! Now, it's on to conquering semester exams! GO LEOPARDS!

Even as the holiday break approaches, there is no shortage of learning & FUN going on at WSMS! History classes engage their brains with a round of “fact or fib”. Math scale factor practice = festive holiday decor! ⛄️ Science classes deck the hallways with their knowledge of Newtons Laws in Systems. Our dance & color guard teams strut their stuff at the Winter Pom performance, and UIL begins its preparations for a big win in the spring!
