A Note from the Director

The Lovejoy Independent School District’s Student Nutrition Services is committed to helping our students achieve their full potential. A team of dedicated student nutrition professionals support student academic success and promote healthy eating habits by offering students a variety of nutritious meals. Our menus are designed to provide nutrients associated with good health. We take seriously our responsibility to offer safe, healthful foods to our students. Not only are we concerned with meeting the needs of our students but also those of their parents. We would like to invite parents to eat school lunch with their children in our cafeterias at any time.

Mission Statement

In partnership with the Lovejoy Independent School District’s education process, it is the mission of Student Nutrition Services to support academic excellence by offering students and staff a variety of quality, nutritious meals in a timely, effective manner while delivering exemplary customer service.

Goals

  • Provide for the nutritional well-being of our students through healthy, quality meals that are appetizing and encourage student participation in school meals.

  • Provide exemplary customer service by qualified Student Nutrition Services team members.

  • Support nutrition education, and student and staff involvement in programs that promote personal wellness and lifelong healthy lifestyle habits.

  • Engage open and friendly communication with students, parents, staff, and community.

  • Maintain high sanitation and safety standards throughout our Student Nutrition Services programs.

  • Provide stewardship of financial resources to ensure solvency and which supports the overall mission of Student Nutrition Services.

  • Value and recognize the Student Nutrition employees’ contributions to the overall success of the team.

2024-2025 School Lunch Program 

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! We look forward to the opportunity to serve your students this school year.

Lunch prices will increase to the following:

  • Elementary School - $3.75

  • Intermediate/Middle School - $4.25 ($5.00 premium meal)

  • High School - $4.75 ($5.50 premium meal)

Families who wish to apply for free & reduced priced meals must complete a new income application every school year. Families are encouraged to apply now!

Submitting an application can do more than just provide access to free and reduced-price meals. Some of the additional benefits may include:

  • Funding for state and federal programs and services for our schools

  • Discounted rates on internet services

  • Free or reduced registration fees for AP, SAT, and/or ACT test

  • Discounted rates associated with college applications

  • Free or discounted fees to participate in school activities

  • Free or discounted fees for school bus transportation
